To clear your history in Internet Explorer and check for Spy
/ Ad ware.
It may not be possible to remove all of your surfing, e-mail and chat
history from your computer. Be especiall wary if
your partner is technically savy. For complete safety we suggest that
you use a land line phone (not cellular or an
wireless home phone). E-mail is not a secure form of communication either.
Sniffer programs can retreave any
e-mail with a certain subject line or context. As of January 2005 all
phones will have GPRS (GPS) service. With GPS
your phone and you can be traced within a couple of yards. We recommend
pre-paid cell phones that do not attach a name with the user. GPS can
be tracked with simple downloadable software.
I recommend a program call Spy Bot search and destroy.
You can find it at www.downloads.com.
Reason is
that unless you are highly technical you may not know if your PC is infected
with spy ware. Your partner may
see EVERYTHING you do AS you do it via e-mail. Many spy program track
everything and send e-mail reports
every 15 minutes or so. This is why it may be best to use a public (Library)
computer to view information about
or for victims of domestic violence.
