Q: How do you stay in business?

A: With donations from caring people and business’s


Q: How come you only give a PO Box for your location?

A: To keep our location secret from potential violent spouse’s


Q: Are you Attorney’s

A:NO


Q: Can you help me with legal issues

A: Yes, we can point you in the right direction and help you get an attorney via the TRLA


Q: How many people can we house at one time?

A: 8 Women and 20 Children


Q: Do you charge for your services?

A: No, not a single cent.


Q: How long can victims stay at the shelter?

A: in short as long as they need to. If one is working towards healthy goals and there are no safety issues they can stay until their most important goals are reached. After clients leave we have an excellent non-resident program available to them.


Q: Do we have services and provide for victims with children?

A: Yes, we have children's programs.


Q: Do we provide services for adult male victims?

A: Yes, there is an increase of male victims. Male (adult) victims are housed in a different safe house.


Q: Where is the shelter located?

A: Ancient Chinese secret...No actually the location is kept secret do to strict confidentiallity rules. This is to insure the safety of not only the victims but the staff too. All visitors and volunteers must sign a confidentiality agreement


Q: Do you do presentations in the community to increase the awarness of domestic violence and sexual assault?

A: Yes, call Mark at (830) 372-2780.


Q: Where do you get your program funding from?

A: About 40% of our funding comes from the Texas department of health and human services commission (HHSC), United Way and the Texas office of the attorney general. The rest comes from community businesses and individual supporters in our service areas.


Q: What is your service area?
